The Opportunity
Are you an experienced HR specialist looking for a dynamic role within the labour hire industry? Do you have a passion for providing expert support and advice to both internal stakeholders and clients? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
As a HR specialist you’ll work closely with internal teams and our casual labour force to deliver tailored support across various operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and Supporting investigations by ensuring compliance with Labourpowers policies and legal obligations
- Provide advice on best practice initiatives to internal stakeholders and clients
- Develop and update workplace policies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and industry standards
- Ensure accurate reporting to Labour Hire Authorities (VIC/QLD) and handle renewal of Labour Hire Licences
- Manage end-to-end internal recruitment processes, from job creation to candidate onboarding
- Develop and deliver training programs and implement succession planning initiatives
- Manage visa-related inquiries and conduct background checks on candidates
- Handle Fair Work cases, represent Labourpower in disputes and mediate between parties when required
- Compile and provide the requested information in response to subpoena requests, ensuring all materials are prepared and submitted in advance of the court or submission deadline.
- Provide reporting on Australian Bureau of Statistics and Gender Equality Reporting
- Monitor temp-to-perm transitions for candidates working with clients under a consistent and regular pattern
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation and understanding of relevant awards, enterprise bargaining agreements (EBAs), and industrial instruments
- Travel to other states as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Industrial Relations, Management, Sociology) or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with prior exposure to the labour hire industry considered highly desirable.
- Knowledge/comprehension of Australian employment law, workplace relations, and industrial relations.
- Understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and other relevant legislation.
- Exposure to Employment Hero or similar HRIS platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset to mitigate risk
